19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional title, gained dominance to force a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
