I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
